  • Maintenance and Support

Maintenance and Support Supporting Client Successes aeSolutions offers qualified specialists to support clients' needs. Personnel can be provided to augment the client's staff or to consult on specific issues (hardware, software, safety, advanced control, networks, and alarm management, to name a few.) A Technical Services Agreement (TSA) is an annual arrangement with a time-plus-expenses purchase order and discounted pricing. The TSA makes pre-designated specialists available for pre-planned work or for short notice call outs. A small annual fee applies. For emergency service calls without a TSA in place, aeSolutions will make every effort to respond, depending on resource availability. • Staff augmentation services • Consulting services • Technical services agreement (TSA) • Emergency service order Automation Services Previous Next

  • Human Machine Interface (HMI) : Terms and Acronyms

Acronyms & Terms Glossary <- More Definitions Human Machine Interface (HMI) Software and hardware that allows human operators to monitor the state of a process under control, modify control settings to change the control objective, and manually override automatic control operations in the event of an emergency. The HMI also allows a control engineer or operator to configure set points or control algorithms and parameters in the controller. The HMI also displays process status information, historical information, reports, and other information to operators, administrators, managers, business partners, and other authorized users. Operators and engineers use HMIs to monitor and configure set points, control algorithms, send commands, and adjust and establish parameters in the controller. aeSolutions designs and configures human machine interfaces for control and safety systems. HMI varieties range from DCS vendors' hefty client-server systems to small touch screens engineered with special purpose panels. aeSolutions also develops alarm management philosophies which include HMI design guidance; a facility's various alarms and alert states are properly managed and prioritized to help operators maintain situational awareness. • Proportional control : Terms and Acronyms

Acronyms & Terms Glossary <- More Definitions Proportional control Proportional control is a control mode where controller output (the action taken) is proportional to the difference between the setpoint and the process variable (the degree to which system diverges from ideal point). Other control modes include on-off control and proportional-integral-derivative (PID) mode. • Low Demand Mode : Terms and Acronyms

Acronyms & Terms Glossary <- More Definitions Low Demand Mode Dormant or standby operation where the IPL takes action only when a process demand occurs and is otherwise inactive. Low demand mode occurs when the process demand frequency (i.e., when the IPL is challenged) is less than once per year. Low demand mode of an IPL is considered during Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) conducted by aeSolutions' trained facilitators. PHAs help companies identify hazard scenarios that could lead to a release of highly hazardous chemicals that can cause negative impact on people, the environment, and property.
